Below are the current road condition alerts on provincially maintained highways in Southeastern British Columbia. This area covers the Porthill / Rykerts, and Eastport / Kingsgate border crossings in Idaho, and Roosville / Grasmere in Montana. This can be a very long list in the winter months.

This real-time list is provided by the Province of British Columbia and shows road conditions, traffic incidents, events, and major construction that impact the provincial roadways. We have a separate page for road conditions in Idaho.

Southeastern British Columbia Road Conditions
Highway 1 Both directions Road will be closed in both directions from 43km east of Sicamous to 9 km West of Revelstoke, from 2 pm to 5 pm on Wednesday May 3, for the installation of Remote Avalanche Control Systems at Three Valley Gap. Highway 1 Both directions Road will be closed both directions in Yoho National Park, 16 km west of Field, at 7:00 pm MT on May 1, May 3 and May 5, for rock blasting. Expect delays of 60 to 90 minutes. Reduced speed zone in effect. Be prepared to stop, obey all signs and traffic control personnel, and watch for hauling truck traffic. Highway 1 Both directions Rock slope re-profiling in Yoho National Park, 16 km west of Field, 24 hours per day/7 days per week until June 30. Expect intermittent delays of up to 20 minutes. Longer closures of up to 60 minutes for rock blasting will be posted in advance. Reduced speed zone in effect. Be prepared to stop. Highway 93 Both directions Parks Canada is undertaking roadway rehabilitation on Hwy 93S, between the Great Divide and Marble Canyon, from May 1 until June 15. Expect single lane alternating traffic and delays up to 20 minutes. Speed reduction in effect and traffic control personnel on site. Be prepared to stop. Working hours 7:00 am -7:00 pm, Mon - Sat. Highway 1 Both directions Expect delays of up to 20 minutes between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm daily, Monday May 1 to Friday May 12, for the installation of Remote Avalanche Control Systems at Three Valley Gap. Highway 1 Both directions Parks Canada is twinning 6 km of highway, from the BC/Alberta border extending 6 km westward. Working hours 6 am to 9 pm, Monday to Saturday, from April 18 until September 23, 2017. Speed reduced to 60 km/h in work zones and 50 km/h on paved detours. Expect delays of up to 20 minutes. Highway 3 Both directions Highway Widening and Paving 3 km east of Jaffray 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Mon-Sat through Aug 31. The road is reduced to single lane alternating traffic with possible delays up to 10 minutes. Please reduce speed to 50 km/hr during construction hours 70 km/hr during non working hours. Highway 3A between Castlegar and Creston Both directions Kootenay Lake Ferry Both directions - Ferry Service Interruption at Kootenay Lake starting Saturday, April 15 at 9:30 am through to Sunday, April 30th 2:30 pm.
