Commercial and residential traffic at the Eastport Idaho / Kingsgate British Columbia border crossing will be funnelled into a single lane at times during construction now under way. This will cause significant slow-downs and the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol is recommending that drivers consider alternative ports such as Roosville, Porthill or even Sweetgrass. Porthill is a permit port which means that commercial shipments must have a port permit to use this crossing. Roosville and Sweetgrass are 24 hour commercial ports.
