Northwest Washington State Travel Alerts

 

Below are the travel alerts issued by the Washington State Department of Transportation for the northwestern part of the state. This includes major accidents, weather related problems, construction and other events that may affect your travel. This area includes the following border crossings: Point Roberts, Peace Arch, Blaine / Surrey, Lynden / Aldengrove, and Sumas / Huntingdon.

HIGH IMPACT
I-5 Northbound - Wednesday, Dec. 13 and Thursday, Dec. 14- Maintenance crews will close the left lane of northbound I-5 daily from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. north of Nulle Road/the Skagit County line for guardrail repair. Last Updated: 12/8/2017 4:42 PM More Info

MODERATE IMPACT
SR 104 Both Directions - From 11:59 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, to 5 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, a slow-moving oversized load will be transported along a two-mile segment of SR 104 and SR 3. The load will start at Salsbury Point Boat Launch (Wheeler Street Northeast) and travel on SR 104 to SR 3. The load will continue to Scenic Drive Northeast. During the journey, the oversized load will occupy both lanes of the highways, and travel at just 5 mph. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area during this time.
