Canadian Consulates located in the United States

Canadian consulates generally provide the following services: emergency services to Canadians travelling and living in the U.S., promotion of trade and investment, and advocacy on behalf of Canada’s interests.

Some of the offices will handle immigration paperwork, such as applications for Canadian citizenship, Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) applications, Temporary Resident Permits (TRP), and Rehabilitation and Authorization to Return to Canada (ARC) applications. The consulates are a location you can contact to discuss getting a TRP or Rehabilitation approval to enter Canada with a criminal record. However, be aware that not all offices perform all functions, so you must contact them directly to confirm their services.

All visitors will be searched and screened prior to entering a consulate. The following items are likely to be prohibited inside the building:

Backpacks, bags, luggage, etc.
Weapons or tools of any kind
Electronic or recording equipment of any kind, including laptops, cell phones, tape/CD/MP3 players, pagers, keyless remotes, etc.
